KB, RK and Manoj – three young lads joined NDA in July 1976. While KB went to Hunter Squadron. RK and Manoj joined Lima Squadron. They passed through the rigours of NDA, not as prominent cadets, but as confident youngsters. On passing out from NDA, KB’s pen picture read, “This naval cadet believed in living and letting others live. Excelled in swimming.” And RKS Bhadauria was described as “A typical Lima CQ, made his presence felt. Watched the eats with hawk eyes. Good at football, hockey, academics and decency,” while Manoj was “Cool-comfy, sneaked in and out of the squadron like a shy bat. Rarely spoke.”
