VM, VSM (Retd) of 63th NDA Course was
commissioned in the fighter stream in December
1983. He has flown 3400 hours in his career
comprising MiG-21, Mirage 2000, Su 30 and
trainer aircraft. He has over 1000 hours flying
experience on Mirage 2000. He was awarded the
Vayusena Medal for gallantry in 1999 during the
Kargil War while functioning as the flight
commander in 7 Squadron. He commanded two
vital flying bases in SWAC and EAC and held
key appointments in SWAC and WAC. The air
officer has also served as Defence Attache in Italy
