Rear Admiral Philipose G Pynumootil,
AVSM, NM is an alumnus of the Lawrence
School, Lovedale, and the National Defence
Academy (67th course.) A Sea King pilot, he
has commanded INAS 330 and INS
Shikra. His ship commands include INS
Nashak, INS Kirpan and INS
Brahmaputra. He has served as the Principal
Director Aircraft Acquisition and ACNS
Air prior to his current appointment as Flag
Officer Naval Aviation. He has undergone the
Staff Course, Higher Air Command Course
and the Royal College of Defence Studies
Course, where he obtained a master’s degree
from Kings College, London.
