PVSM,AVSM (Retd) is an extremely competent professional who attended Staff College at Greenwich, United Kingdom, besides attending several courses in the erstwhile Soviet Union. He is an alumnus of National Defence College, New Delhi too. He was awarded Mention in Despatches’ for participation in the historic attack on Karachi harbour during the 1971 Indo-Pak War. He held many prestigious appointments while in service including the appointment of Commandant, NDA, Pune and has been the Naval Attache at the Indian High Commission in Islamabad, Pakistan. He superannuated from service after almost 40 years of service in the Indian Navy from the appointment of Flag Officer Commanding – in – Chief, Southern Naval Command on 31 Jul 2006. Post retirement, he has authored several papers and articles in professional journals.
