Captain Anup Kumar Thomurothu, NM, is a naval
aviator with 3760 hours of experience. In a career
spanning almost three decades, he was part of major
naval exercises including those with foreign navies. He
has taken part in numerous HADR operations such
as the relief operations post Tsunami in the Andaman
and Nicobar islands, cyclone relief operations in
Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Kerala. He has been
commended by the Chief of Naval Staff for the
Tsunami relief operations and by the CINC of the
Western Naval Command for rescue at sea. He was
awarded the Nau Sena Medal for gallantry in
recognition of his valour during 'Operation Madad'.
