Lieutenant General Ashok Ambre,
PVSM, AVSM*, SM (Retd) was commissioned in
1 MARATHA LI (Jangi Paltan) in June 1980. He has
seen active service in Sri Lanka with the IPKF and has
also been the Adjutant at Indian Military Academy,
Dehradun. He has commanded his unit along the Line of
Actual Control, and later commanded the Tawang Brigade,
a Division in the North East and a pivot Corps on the
Western Front. He superannuated in March 2019 as the
Quartermaster General and is settled in Pune.
