Major General JP Alex (Retd) was commissioned
into the JAK LI Regiment. He has had varied
experience including instructional assignments at
the National Defence Academy, the Army
Counterinsurgency School, and at the Higher
Command Wing of the Army War College. Prior
to his retirement, he was the Dean of the Faculty
of Studies of Army War College. As a Brigadier,
he raised and commanded an Assam Rifles Sector
in Churachandpur, Manipur; and later
commanded an infantry division in a strike corps.
He holds a PhD in Defence Studies, with interests
in subjects of national security, strategic
communication, perception management and
psychological operations. He is presently the Vice
President of Mhow Analysis and Research Society,
a Mhow based think tank.
