Brigadier (Dr) Kiran Kumar Thacker (retd), an
alumnus of National Defence Academy, Pune
was commissioned into the GRENADIERS
Regiment in June 1980. Having graduated from
DSSC, Wellington, he has been a Brigade
Major and has also had three tenures as an
Instructor in Infantry School, Mhow. He has
served as a 2IC of a RR battalion in Kashmir
and also been a Military Observer in
UN mission in Mozambique and Rwanda. He
has commanded 17 GRENADIERS (a
Motorized Battalion), and 118 Infantry
Battalion TA, and the famous Tiger Hill
Brigade in Batalik.
After superannuation in 2014, he completed his
PhD in Management.
