Major General Jagatbir Singh, VSM (Retd), a second
generation Army Officer was commissioned in December
1981 into 18 Cavalry, a Regiment he subsequently
commanded. He has held varied command, staff and
instructional appointments which include commanding
the First Armoured Division. Post retirement, he is a
Distinguished Fellow with United Service Institution of
India and apart from writing for various newspapers and
magazines has co-authored Armour 71 and co-edited
Valour and Honour.
