Major General M S Pillai, SM (Retd), from the Corps of
Engineers is an international sailor who won his first National
Championship in the Junior class in 1971. He has represented
India in two Asian Games, and numerous World
Championships all over the world. He has been the Asian
Champion in 1981, and South Asian Champion three times.
He has the unique distinction of winning the OK Dinghy
National Championship seven times and ILCA 7 National
Championships three times. Presently, the General Officer is the
Vice-President of the Yachting Association of India, and also
a ‘World Sailing’ certified International Judge in Sailing.
