Captain (IN) Vijay Kumar, VSM is a Gunnery Specialist in the
Indian Navy and is presently the Secretary of The Indian Navy Sports
Control Board. With 15 years’ experience in the field of sports
management encompassing talent scouting, recruitment, and career
management of top-level athletes he has been associated with
formulating various sports related policies for the Services. A former
national champion in Yachting, and a National Category 1 Judge in
Weightlifting, he has the experience of leading the Indian contingent at
the World Military Wrestling Championship held at New Jersey,
USA in 2014. He was the manager of the Indian tennis team at the
World Military Games held at Wuhan, China in 2019. Recently,
Vijay Kumar was nominated as the mentor of a wrestler, Reetika
Hooda during Paris Olympics 2024.
