Lieutenant General Amarjeet Singh Bedi, PVSM, UYSM,
YSM, VSM (Retd), an alumnus of National Defence
Academy, Pune was commissioned into the Garhwal Rifles in
June 1981. He has extensive operational experience across
Jammu & Kashmir and the LAC in the East. The officer
attended the Higher Command Course at the National Defence
University, Beijing, China and has held key staff and
instructional appointments including United Nations Military
Observer in Angola and MGGS Eastern Command at
Kolkata. He has commanded formations along the LAC. He
retired in 2020 as DG Defence Intelligence Agency. A specialist
on China and the Northeast, he is presently Chairman of
Ceasefire Monitoring Group & Supervisory Board, Nagaland
and Chairman of Ground Rules Monitoring Group, Manipur
