Lieutenant General Pradeep Bali, PVSM, VSM
(Retd), hails from Shimla and was commissioned
into the Punjab Regiment in June 1981. He
tenanted various command and staff appointments,
including operational tenures. He commanded the
Army Corps in Sikkim during the Doklam crisis
with the PLA and its aftermath. He also served as
a military diplomat in Japan and South Korea. He
retired after 39 years of service, and presently writes
extensively on strategic and military issues for
newspapers and defence publications.
