r was commissioned
in the Indian Air Force on
15 June 1980. During his illustrious
career spanning 23 years he flew a
number of fighter aircraft including
the GNAT Mk-1, AJEET,
MiG 23 BN and the MiG 25R
Strategic Recce aircraft. A Qualified
Instructor and a DSSC Graduate, he
has been the Chief Instructor at the
Institute of Flight Safety at Palam and
Command Flight Safety and Inspection
Officer at Eastern Air Command.
He undertook all the Recce Missions
during Operation Safed Sagar, flying
the MiG 25R aircraft in an innovative
tactical role for which he was
Mentioned in Despatches. After his
premature retirement in January 2004
he has worked in a number of
Airlines as their Chief of Flight
Safety and as GM Operations
in an airline too.
