Commander Y Hemanth Kumar from the 20th Naval
Engineering Course (NEC) was commissioned into the
Indian Navy in 2008. He is currently posted at the
Directorate of Naval Architecture, New Delhi. An
alumnus of IIT Delhi and IIT Madras with Masters
Degrees in Naval Construction and Marine
Hydrodynamics, he is presently undertaking doctoral
research as a part of his Ph.D at the Department of
Ocean Engineering, IIT Madras. He is also an alumnus
of the prestigious Naval War College, Goa and has
authored several scientific papers in internationally reputed
Journals and participated in international conferences. He
